  • Prioritize fiber diversity. Eating a wide range of plant foods, vegetables, legumes, whole grains, feeds a broader range of beneficial bacteria than any single “superfood” can.
  • Include fermented foods. Yogurt, kefir, kimchi, and sauerkraut introduce live cultures that may support microbial balance.
  • Keep meal timing consistent. Eating at regular times helps synchronize gut microbial rhythms with your body’s central clock.
  • Limit late-night alcohol and heavy meals. Both have been shown to disrupt sleep architecture and irritate the gut lining.
  • Manage stress. Chronic stress alters gut permeability and microbial balance, compounding sleep difficulties.
