The National Wellness Council is pleased to announce the return of its flagship gathering, the Annual Wellness Summit, taking place October 14-16, 2026, in Washington, D.C. Now in its ninth year, the Summit brings together researchers, clinicians, public health officials, and community program leaders for three days of programming centered on evidence-based approaches to nutrition, movement, mental health, and sleep.

What to Expect

This year’s Summit theme, “Whole-Person Wellness in Practice,” reflects a growing recognition that health outcomes are shaped by the interaction of physical, mental, and social factors, not any single intervention in isolation. Programming will be organized around the Council’s core focus areas, with dedicated tracks including:

  • Nutrition Science Track — sessions on the gut-brain axis, anti-inflammatory eating patterns, and public nutrition policy
  • Mental Health Track — workshops on workplace burnout prevention, youth mental health trends, and community-based support models
  • Movement & Recovery Track — practical sessions on strength training across the lifespan and sleep’s role in physical recovery
  • Community Health Track — case studies from community garden programs, corporate wellness partnerships, and local health initiatives

The Summit will open with a plenary address examining the state of preventive health in the United States, followed by breakout sessions led by researchers and practitioners from across the wellness field. Past Summits have featured presentations from leading voices in sleep science, exercise physiology, and public mental health policy, and this year’s lineup will be announced in the coming weeks.

Who Should Attend

The Summit is designed for a broad cross-section of the wellness community, including:

  • Registered dietitians and nutrition professionals
  • Mental health clinicians and counselors
  • Fitness and movement educators
  • Public health practitioners and community program coordinators
  • Corporate wellness and HR leaders
  • Researchers and academic partners

Registration and Logistics

Early registration is available now through the Council’s website, with discounted rates for nonprofit staff, students, and Council members. A limited number of scholarship registrations will be available for community health workers; details will be published closer to the event date.

The Summit will be held at a downtown Washington, D.C. conference venue with full accessibility accommodations. A virtual attendance option will also be offered for select plenary sessions for those unable to travel.

Why It Matters

As the wellness field continues to evolve, in-person gatherings like the Summit remain vital spaces for cross-disciplinary learning, where a nutrition researcher might sit beside a corporate HR director, and a sleep scientist might exchange ideas with a community garden organizer. It is this kind of exchange, the Council believes, that produces the most durable, real-world wellness solutions.

Registration details, the full session schedule, and speaker announcements will be updated regularly as the event approaches.
